Re: Clarifying logic behind OC instead of CA

First - Never call the CA
PFD the OC and dispute the CA.
Timothy, I have tried working with the OC once on a bill that was paid by my insurance, then they said 1 1/2 year later, it came back saying it was not to have been paid, as I was not covered at that time, which I was. I just recently found this on my CR and flipped!  I called  the insurance co  and they could not pay it again, since it had been over 2 years. I called the CA and told them the situation, and they agreed to delete it from the bureau's although the OC told me to pay them. I just didn't think it was fair or right. Yes, I know it's a no-no to never call the CA but at that time, I felt it really didn't matter. So, sometimes I suppose it does depend on the situation. I don't know if this will come back to bite me in the butt later, but I guess we will see.

Re: Clarifying logic behind OC instead of CA

I went to the website for the CA and am thinking about sending my PFD via email. They are a small company and I will likely be dealing with the owner. one of the interesting things about this agency is that they have a lot of sales colateral on their site. they talk about their procedures and how accounts over 1 year old only have a 10% chance of ever being collected. I'm hoping that since they don't expect to ever collect on these bills that they will be cooperative. We'll see. these are my 2 most recent collections and i am determined to find a way to get them removed.

How did your PFD attempts with Cascade Collections work out? I have been trying GW to get a $55 paid collection from them removed. So far no luck. I'm about to send my fourth letter.
