Thanks everyone....
I'm almost too embarrassed to say but the ones I closed are: BP gas, Texaco/Chevron gas, Valero gas, Banana Republic, New York & Co, Kohls, Eddie Bauer, Nebraska Furnitune Mart.
I have a lot more cards, that I WON'T reveal at this time, lol!!! I've got plenty of credit and cards, so this will effect me none as said earlier.
At this point in my credit game, I'm only getting approved for store cards, not majors, so I will garden, work on CLI on my majors, and close 10 more store cards over the next year.
I just got carried away as we all do sometimes, but sitting down and really thinking about things, made me think about what I want long term, not just short term and the feeling of yet another store and approval.
Thanks for the support!!Congrats on lightening the load...wish you could have willed the NFM card to me. I burned them in 2010 BK and they won't let me in again unless
I pay them back which ain't gonna happen. Did I see somewhere you had a Marathon gas
The NFM card was a low limit, and I did have marathon gas card like over a yr ago but I closed it as well.

Thanks for the support!!10 more? Well you're off to a great start, congrats!
I actually feel lucky that I never got on the store card bandwagon because, if you've had credit problems in the past like many (dare I say most) people on myFICO have had, then any types of approvals feel good. I learned about the SCT and tried J Crew immediately and it worked! That card has now grown to $1550 in about 5 months. I actually tried the SCT at about a dozen more places and the pop-up has never come up again. Just dumb luck on my part that I didn't end up with 10+ store cards. I'm happy with the J Crew because of growth potential and I actually love the Amazon store card because I buy pretty much everything from there. I might consider Lowes or maybe Wal Mart somewhere down the line, but you definitely need to be careful that each card fits your needs.
Yes, 10 more, lol with room to grow! Lol... My crew card is at $8250 so it's going no where for now, and my others are all good limits. But yes, paring down
Geez, you closed an Eddie Bauer card, and I've never even been able to get the damned popup!

LOL!!!! Hahahaha
actually, I had 5 lol!! I'm keeping the other two , for now.
I can honestly say I've never had a gas store card, never saw the point of having a card that can only be used for gas and only at their stations. I use my Barclays Rewards MC and get 2% rewards, and can use it at the station with the lowest price, not the one with the right brand.
I only have 2 store cards, Walmart & Lowes, and they're both keepers as they both have a 5K CL and I regularly shop there. But the Wallyworld card will be getting alot less use thanks to a tip from you. My Barclays Rewards gives 2% on gas, groceries & utilities, only 1% on all else (which is when I used my Cap1 QS w/1.5% rewards). But I remembered you saying in one of your threads that you were getting your Walmart purchases coded as groceries on your Sallie Mae & getting the 5% rewards, so last week at WM I whipped out my Rewards MC instead of WM card, for a purchase of mainly of dog food & treats. I checked today and sure enough it coded as groceries and gave me 2% rewards, so from now on I'll use Barclays and just use the WM card ever so often for small purchases to keep them happy and not downgrade my CL.

That Barclays Rewards is a great little card; it helped me to Sallie Mae and there were even some surprise categories. I used to get 2% at Ulta (no idea why...SM only gives me 1%).
Congrats to pizza on some of your closures!
Awhile back decided to rid myself of all AF cards (save for a few) to the tune of nearly 65k plus in credit. I was in a position to absorb the hit but nevertheless sumtimes U just hav to do what U hav to do. Its about envisioning goals for the long as opposed to short term. Looking back I know it was the right decision. Glad pizza made (is making) the right decision(s) for her
Nice work Pizza. Keep your eye on the prize for that house whoooopp whoop!
