Closing a recently-opened account will not prevent it from reporting and being included in your aging metrics.
It will still report, even if card isn't activated. Will still be considered in aging calculation. If closed, will be on report up to 10 years.
You took the HP, might as well get use from it.

Yeah, once the account is opened, it will be reported to the CRA's.
The account will factor into your AAOA.
