Closing on new construction in December and collection

Hi everyone,

I have a question for you all.

I'm fully approved for a mortgage on new construction that will be finished tentatively in December.

I had a collection for 538.00 on an old electric bill from contract callers and it randomly was removed from 2 of 3 bureaus this month.

I didn't pay it off and it's only a year old, I'm just wondering why this would have happened and just trying to be proactive so nothing threatens my closing this December.

Thanks!

Most likely resold. I don't think it's gone permanently.

Thanks Omar, if they report it again will it have that much effect since it's not a new collection?

Yes because to the FICO algorithm it'll *appear* new. I'd reach out to the CA that was previously showing and ask if they still own it or if they sold it, and if they sold it, who they sold it to. I'd then pay it off ASAP before the new CA reports.
