Collection Agency

Hi. I am new to the forum and I have a question.....I have been trying to get a company I used for advertising my business to cancel my advertising.  I first asked them to cancel in April 2006.  They would not answer my emails, telephone calls, letters by mail, etc.  The only answer I could ever get from anybody was that to cancel I had to go thru my Sales Rep - who would not call me back either.  I found out several months later thru various emails that he no longer worked for the company, etc,etc......this goes on forever.

My question is:  can they turn my account over to a Collections company, even though I am still paying them monthly (they want lump sum payment of $4000).  I am still trying to get this problem resolved, but I guess  my next step is to contact a lawyer.  Any advice.

Re: Collection Agency

Hi lucky, welcome to the forum. There are many knowledgeable people here to help answer your questions.

Did you sign any kind of contract with them for a specific number of ads, or a specific period of time? Have you sent a certified letter, return receipt requested(called CMRRR to the president of the company, demanding immediate cessation of all advertising?

I'm sure others will chime in shortly, and give you their considered opinion.

Good luck to you.
