Collection Company still pulling my report after card has fallen off??

Eight years ago I defaulted on a cc.  the time of limitations passed on the card and it has fallen off my credit report (within the past 6 months).   My credit scores has greatly improved since then. However in the past couple of months I have started getting alot of calls regarding this account.  They are leaving messages saying to contact them ASAP regarding setting up payment arrangements, etc.  I ignore these because I know that its past its time and nothing can be done.  My concern is though that in the past 2 weeks this company...Collection Recovery Services out of Dallas,TX is pulling my credit reports....once on 9/26 and then again on 10/6.  Is this legal?  What reason do they have for pulling my reports?  And if they continue to do this won't my score start coming down?  When applying for other loans can they see that this collection company is doing this?  They aren't posting anything on my reports just pulling them??

Is there anything I can do to stop them?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there.

Even after the SOL and CRTP (Credit Reporting Time Period) have expired the debt still remains and collection efforts in theory can go on forever. They can't (legally) ever put this back on your reports. You can send them a letter CMRRR and request that they stop all further communication with you. Of course they can always sell this debt to another CA and it starts all over but cross that road when you get to it.

They can soft your reports and I know that's aggravating but it doesn't affect your scores and other lenders can't see these soft pulls.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
