Collection Deleted - 10 point score improvement

RJM agreed to PFD at 50% of balance. I cut them a check and true to their word the account disappeared from my reports the day the check cleared. Interesting to note that my score went up by 10 points. Just wanted to share with anyone curious as to what sort of score improvement to expect from the deletion of one collection account.

I had a 7 year old account drop off and got a 50 point score boost.  But it was my only baddies and my scores (ex cept EX) were at 730 before.

So it depends on a whole range of factors

Thanks for sharing that. A 7 yr old Arrow acct popped off one of my reports last week. Score up 18.

I gained 50 points last year when I got a current collection deleted after doing a settlement.

I got a 14 point jump after having a collection from 06 removed and paying off a loan collection, that one didn't get deleted though, darn DoE haha

Hello,

I had two deleted off my transunion report last week and my score only went up 4 points.  I have another one that is supposed to drop off in April and I PID for a charged off account from last year to come off.  I will check score in two weeks, waiting for check to clear.

Did they tell you in writing they would delete it or did you just trust what they said? Who was the CA?
