Collection Harassment

Has anyone had trouble with a collection Agency called I. C. System? They are extremely rude. And have told me to get a loan to pay off this debt. They wont agree to a payment plan. Any suggestions ? The original loan was HSB.

Why on earth are you talking to them!    Stop that!  Are they licensed to collect in your state?

Can you give us details on the debt please?  Does HSB still own this and they are having this CA collect, or was it sold to this CA?  DOFD or DOLA and are they reporting on your CBRs?  Also do you know if the debt is within collecting SOL for your state? http://www.bankrate.com/brm/search/story-debtmgmt.asp

all I have to say is IC Systems are a bunch of bastards-

I was soooo close to suing them- I had them on 12+ violations.

I called hsb and they said it was sent to their collection dept. But the girl I talked to said she didn't know if they had sold it to an outside collector. I just got a Transunion report though the mail and it has the account listed as a HSB. Date opened 05/02

 I don't know if they are licensed in my state SC. How would I find out?

I have a DV ready to send to them tomorrow. report says it is from phone co. Impossible as I still have the same service for many years......will see what they have to say. I do know my rights!!

Good that HSB did not say it was sold... still a chance it was not.  You need to find out though, so ask for a collection supervisor there or write to them etc.  If that is HSB that is reporting and not the CA's collection, it appears to me that regarding it being on your reports, the DOFD might have been the 'date opened' date of 05/02 which is why 7 years later you see the notation about a removal 4/09.  Maybe if you could XXXX out the account number and paste the whole section from the TU report we could determine more because I'm just guessing.

I think HSB might still owns it if the CA has yet to report.

Uh Oh! I just sent I C Systems Collections  a PFD letter today for 50% of a $115.00 medical balance.

I guess I'll brace myself for their response
