Collection help.

So I just found out that I had a collection on a medical bill from 2011. I only found out when I was looking through my credit report for the first time about 2 weeks ago. (I know I'm stupid.) I can't remember if Experian had it, but both TransUnion and Equifax showed that I have collections on their reports. However, when I signed up for myFico 2 days ago, the collection only appeared on Equifax. The other 2 bureaus didn't show it. But actually filed a dispute with TransUnion as Equifax's dispute link was down. (Go figure.) I'm scared that I might have alerted them about making a mistake somehow.

This collection does disappear in April 2018. But I'm shopping for a new credit card and I don't want anything bad on my report...

Is it possible to have a collection in one report and not the others?

How come TransUnion showed that I have collection on 9/16th but TransUnion in MyFico didn't show it on 9/25th?

What's going on here?

Re: Collection help.

A party can choose to make reporting to no CRAs, or only to one or more.

There is no requirement that they must report to all CRAs.

The date that  a debt collector reports their collection can also vary between CRAs.

The DOFD must also be reported to the CRA, and being a factual determination, should be the same for each CRA.

However, the date of reporting of the collection iteself can vary dependent only upon when they choose to report.

Re: Collection help.

But the thing is, TransUnion's report showed that I have a collection. That was on 9/16th. on 9/25th, when I signed up for MyFico, TransUnion didn't show any collections.

So I'm guessing that the collection agency did report to CRAs as it was on the report?
