Collection on credit report! How to fix this issue?

Hey, there is a collection on the credit report because it seems the company didnt think I would pay off, but I was just late. So I paid it fully off and its been like a year more now. They sent it to collection even though I paid it. So I have been with this collection for a long time. I want this collection to be removed. How do I remove this collection? What do I have to do? Please help me? Thanks.

Does this new collection account report as paid in full also. Give as much details as possible on the original collection, who was it and the amount. Same for the new one too.

Hey, it shows unpaid. And I paid it fully. It was for: 1-800-Patches. Now I cant find them on the web. I think they went out of business which is a problem. I think I will wirte a dispute letter to the credit agency. Thanks.

Hi, hmmm. I thought the company reports it to the credit report? How do I know which collection agency was used? Thanks.

Look at your reports and see who the creditor is? Is it 1-800-patches or someone else? Also, look under both the accounts and collections area's of your reports.

Hi, it shows: The collection agency "155yc00897" was hired to collect a debt of $80.00 originally owed to "1 800 Patches C" on account number "XXXXXX". Thanks.

Never heard of this collection agency, are you sure it isn't an account#?

Hi, well the part where it says on account number there were some numbers at the end, but where it says credit agency I never heard of that also? What can I do? I just wrote a dispute using the write a letter online for the 3 credit places, but what else is needed? Thanks.

I would do an online dispute with the CRA (credit reporting agency) that is reporting this account. Dispute it as not mine. I think they might have trouble verifying this debt as yours and will be forced to delete it.
