Collection

Hi!

I have a question and was not sure where it should go.  My mom has been paying on a hospital collection for about a year.  Her debit card on file has expired and she has been trying for 3 days to get someone to either answer or call her back.  She has left numerous messages and has stayed on hold for hours.  Last night we finally got someone to answer but he said he could not and would not take the new information because that "was not his department".  He could pull up her account and see that the card is expired.  He then proceeded to hang up on us. She has been trying ALL day to get in touch with someone today but no luck.  The company is in Florida and we are in Texas if that matters.  Is there anything she can do?  She wants to pay her bill but if they won't take the new info what will happen?  Any advice would be appreciated.  We are just dumbfounded that the guy would not update the information....

Re: Collection

Pay with cashiers check or money order with certified Mail.

Doesn't matter when they recieve it, or when they cash it.  Legally the postmark date counts as the date the bill is paid, so they cannot add any late payments or anything to her account.
