Collections being paid

I have a couple of accounts that are listed as open on my credit report. These accounts have been sent to a debt collector for payment. I entered and signed stipulations on the amounts that I would pay every month. My question is how do I go about getting the amount owed correct and getting these accounts listed back to being paid on time every month?

Re: Collections being paid

If the payments are going to a debt collector, the debt is delinquent.

Thus, payments dont remove the delinquency status until the entire delinquent debt is paid.

As payments are made, the debt collector is required to promptly update their reporting to show the reduced amount.  FCRA 623(a)(2).

It is not uncommon for a debt collector to fail to reduce the balance under collection each month, but you can dispute if you wish to compel updated reporting.
