Consumer Dispute

After getting my Equifax Fico score and report I disputed some items.  I received an alert today that said " An account listed on your credit report has been updated.  The accounts are ten student loan accounts.  The old status was previously reported as "Pays account as agreed" but I still was flagged as being 120 days late in 2003.  Now it says "At least 120 days or more than four payments past due."  And there is now a new description that reads "Closed or Paid Account/Zero Balance Refinanced Student loan."  My score hasn't changed and my question is did I make a mistake in requesting an investigation?  What does it all mean?  Thanks for any help on this!!

Re: Consumer Dispute

I'm unclear what you were disputing.

An account will be flagged if it has any negatives. Were you actually 120 days late in 2003?

Are these all paid?

Where is it saying "At least 120 days or more than four payments past due" at?

Where is it saying "Closed or paid account/zero balance refinanced student loan"?

Re: Consumer Dispute

I was disputing because I thought these were in consolidation and for some reason I thought late payments didn't stay as long on your report.  Here's what I got today:

                               Previously reported                       Newly reported
Balance:                                  $0                                       $0

Past due:                                $0                                        $0

Status:                    Pays account as agreed       At least 120 days or more than four payments  past due

Last activity:         10/1/2003                                              10/1/2003

Description:  Consumer disputes - reinvestigation in process    Closed or Paid Account/Zero Balance
                                                                                                      Refinanced
