Cosigned CC'S....

I have a CO on a Speigal card that shows a balance of 1300$
it is my DW'S card and I had paid the balance off the first of this month
I just got an alert on her scores and they jumped up on EQ 10 points and show
a paid off in full amount for her...
Now my credit report has always had the CO for speigal and the CA collecting for the CC
wich is a double whammy on my scores even though I paid off the account,
should these reports on mine be erased as I cosigned for the card or am I more responsible
for the account than she is?
I have disputes put in for this account...

Re: Cosigned CC'S....

Well to answer your question in respect to who is more responsible, that would be you. As co signer you ARE the owner of that account. For if it was not for you co signing the account wouldn't have been attainable by DW. What I did with a family member of mine was co signed and had them pay me directly instead of relying on them to pay the debtor. That way you can track the history on the account because you know you're paying on time, at the same time you're getting your money directly from the source. I know it sounds a bit strange ,but you have to ensure certain things to protect yourself and your credit.
