I am at a lost and need some help please.
Recently, beginning around May 24th, CC accounts have begun disappearing from my DH credit file. These are all accounts where he is an AU on my CC's.
We have discovered that whenever an account has been updated and he receives an alert (through EQ Complete), a day or say after that particular account disappears from his file.
He called them last week and first talked to an EQ complete Customer service rep but they told him that they would create a ticket, gave him a conf# and told him to call the Disputes department the next day, which he did.
The disputes department said that they don't know why the accounts are disappearing and that he needs to contact the CC companies.
We only figured out today that these accounts disappear after the alerts because our AMEX BCP updated on the 14th then today when I refreshed his report, it was gone.
So far in the past few weeks, 4 accounts have vanished. The only common denominator is that EQ is doing it.
FYI: The CC's that have disappeard are:
AMEX BCP $3K
CITI DIAMOND $10K
WFNNB $1,110
TARGET $3K
All have $0 balances as they are paid off every month. As a result, his utilization is continuely rising.
What can we do if EQ keeps insisting that it's not their doing?
Has this happened to anyone else?
We feel pretty powerless. They keep saying it's not their fault but I don't see how the CC companies are doing this. Just doesn't make any sense.
Thanks for any help!
Sounds like a split file. Do you pull your EQ report frequenty?
Several time a month. That's how I noticed accounts were disappearing.
I'm going to have to research 'split file'. But I wouldn't mind some input.![]()
Thankfully I've never been through it, but there are a number of posters on here who detailed the steps they took to repair the problem. Basically your EQ file can only hold so much info. When you pull multiple times, plus have a decent sized file, and combine that with involuntary softs via ARs, PRMs, or whatever, you'll eventually face a split file. To relieve the file size, EQ will split off accounts, good and/or bad, into a secondary file. These accounts seem to bounce back and forth between the two files. So, when you pull your FICO score it'll go up and down in wild swings, and missing or added accounts. To fix it, EQ will purge the softs and reconstruct the file, and can be done over the phone.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
DH is going to call them this evening to get the ball rolling, so to speak!
Who do you call for soft purges? Frontline reps can't do it.

Good question! DH is a major procrastinator when it comes to this stuff. He's a software developer so he's all one's and zero's. If anyone know of a particular # that he should call when I finally nag him to do so, please feel free to leave a response.
Thanks everyone!
