I wanted to know has anyone every had any luck in contacting their CC companies to lower the interset rate. The reason that I ask is because I was thinking about entering a DMP because my debt has really gotten out of control. If I could get the interset rate lowered just for a short period of time I would help tremendously. Discover contacted me about a month ago and told me that they were going to lower my interest from 20% to 10% for one year.i tried contacting Cap 1 and they told me that they don't do that, I really don't want to enter the DMP but I need to get my finances back under control. Do you think if I explain my situation to them that they would lower the interset rate for a period of time because I do want to pay them and keep my cards but if push come to shove and they won't help I have no other chose.Thanks in advance for the replies and have a great day.
Looking at a personal loan was my first option but all of the decent lenders won't look at me. My score is a 634 and SoFi, LightStream,Earnest, Marcus all told me no because my score is to low.
