Credit Check Total

I read that some people were getting FICO scores from there.  So after doing some reading here to make sure they were not a scam, I checked them out for their 1 week trial.  Pretty cool, but only difference from there and CK was you get another CB and you get FICO/FACO scores.  Guess my TU matched up from my Discover, just dunno about the other 2.

I got it on the July 19th, and went to cancel it on July 26th.  Later on the 26th I get 2 notices saying that my score has changed and I have a CA reporting on me.  I wait til monday to check out CK, and nothing listed there.  I have used CK for I guess 2 years, and they are very accurate when it comes to things hitting my credit report or reporting balances from credit agencies.

Has anyone else experienced this as a way to keep their business?  I would probably just ignore this, but was going to reapply for a credit card.

There are other threads on CCT that cover all this.  You get all 3 bureaus and you get FICO 8's.  They are not FAKO's.  The CreditCheck Total home page even states:

Credit score calculated based on FICO Score 8 model

It should given that Discover also provides a FICO 8 for TU.  That is, as long as there are not sufficient differences in the data when the scores are generated.

Re: Credit Check Total

My apologies if I have posted a topic that has been brought up before.  I did searches on the subject of canceling a membership and suddenly something pops up, I found no relevant threads regarding this.  Just seems fishy to me is all.  Especially that when I go to cancel it on a Sunday, something negative would pop up on a Sunday night.

I assure you CCT is not a scam at all. It's ran by Experian so they aren't going to attach their name to something that is scammy to ruin their reputation, or is that an oxy moron...LMAO.

Re: Credit Check Total

For those of you with the $15 deal, what is your next bill amount under payment information?

I just updated my payment method and it's showing $29.95 for the next month even though I'm supposed to have the $15 deal. Just wondering if that messed up my discount deal.

Mine states it's $29.95 but a payment has already gone through as $14.95. So no worries if yours shows $29.95.

Re: Credit Check Total

The posted amount and the charged amount is covered in the other thread also...

You will be charged the price they gave you on the phone, but the original price is what will show under your account.

Re: Credit Check Total

OK, I feel really dumb that I thought it was a scam, I really just did not have all the facts.

As I use CK, was alerted back in March that a CA had come after again on a 6+ year old debt I have been fighting with for years.  TU and EQ took it off my report, but could have sworn then that EX was not effected.  Dumb me here.

So what I had done on July 20th was do a bit of Home insurance shopping, and decided if I was going to have crap tossed on my report, might as well try and get CLI on my Discover and Cap 1.  Also decided to apply for Citi Double Cash and Blue Cash Everyday by AMEX.  Discover doubled my limit, 1-2k.  Cap 1 said I do not use my card why would they increase it.  Well it just went to Quicksilver the month before and now beats my Discover benefits, so will be my main card.  So will have to wait eventhough had the card 3 years, just never used it cept on backups.  AMEX and Citi declined due to low FICO, so dug into that and found that the CA was actually there dumping my score 60+ points.  Just got a letter from EX saying the negative was wiped off my report!!!!  Ya pretty thrilled to hopefully being done with that crap after almost 7 years of fighting with Direct TV.

Going to call both Citi and AMEX tomorrow now that my report is cleared up and see if I can get the 2 cards.

I never carry a balance, and enjoy the free money that the credit cards like to toss my way.  All 5 would serve a purpose at sometime during the year for their 1-5% cash back.

I did cancel my trial with Credit Check Total, as if I get those 2 cards, will enter the garden, debt free.

I did come to the credit game late in life, 36, but have worked very hard to get what decent scores I do have now.  Great forum here and have learned a lot over the years.
