Credit Inquiries and 3B report??

Ok, so I am rather confused on the number of inquiries that myfico is reporting.  From the dashboard, if i click on reports and then inquiries, there are all the inquiries from the past 12 months, so I count them and get a total ( EQ 10, TU 11, EX 11).  However, from the dashboard if i click on Scores, then "amount of new credit" it tells you your most recent iquiries and total inquiries ( EQ 8, TU 4, EX 7) all less than the ones I hand counted.  Even if I group the auto loan inquiries as 1, the total is still off.  Anybody experience this?

Current Scores EQ 689| EX 688| TU 679
Comenity 57.5k| Navy Fed 52.5k| Capital One 32.3k| Synchrony 23k| BBVA Compass 5.5k| First Commerce 4k| Barclays 1.9k|

This is purely a guess, but it is possible the second total under "amount of new credit" only list the credit inquiries that were approved (and therefore fall under "new credit") whereas the other total also include pulls that resulted in denials or possibly pulls that weren't actually for credit at all (for instance, some potential employers might pull your credit).

you might be right about only approvals are listed under "amount of new debt" but they were all for credit, nothing for employers.  I will do a recount as see if your theory is right

Re: Credit Inquiries and 3B report??

Are they inquiries less than 6 months? Thus the "new" credit distinction.

Re: Credit Inquiries and 3B report??

I'm not familiar with the myFICO site but from what you're describing it sounds like the first is listing all inquiries on your reports and the second is listing inquiries with a scoring impact.  Don't just count the inquiries.  Consider the age of each inquiry.
