@crunching_numbers wrote:LOL! Oh yeah, three different FAKO's too. But one is a Vantage score, and for that contractors purpose, a Vantage FAKO will give him/her a gauge of creditworthiness. Don't get me wrong, Vantage scores are valuable in their own way. Just not with CC's and Mortgage brokers. As a contractor just trying to see that the person isn't a really bad risk, I can see checking out a Vantage score. IMHO...
I would also agree that a Vantage score could be used as a credit indicator. IMHO people with very good or very bad credit reports would have parity in their FICO/Vanatage scores. A person with a 800+ FICO score would probably pull a 900 Vantage score in most cases. The problem I see in when you fall in the middle range or your FICO score is getting the benefit of or being hurt by bucketing.
crunching_numbers - here's the rub --- the client is a major bank. Like they can't pull my REAL FICO score??

That is too funny. like they don't know that Credit Karma is a Vantage/Transrisk Score? Will they give you a mortgage based on those scores???
How about a CC???
crunching_numbers - man, I just don't know!
They want me to submit a screen shot of Credit Karma scores along with my credintials/request for work. I think they said the minimum score is 650 to be considered.
Now, if I have a recent credit report with REAL credit scores on them, I can submit that. (Oh no thank you. Seriously, the work I would be doing for you has nothing to do with actually touching money, so you don't need this information. If you are really serious about a decent credit score, then review/interview the applicants, then pick your top three and pull the credit score.)

OK, I was a little slow on this one- UGH- they are your client, so they are going to OWE YOU money- not the other way around... Why do they need your credit scores in order to pay you???? Are you going to be working with sensitive information or in a secure part of their building? I can't imagine what good a screen shot from credit karma will do them.
And of course, a dishonest person could doctor the screens shot. LMAO

Actually Chase does use the VS for some of their CC decisions.

Yea, but I guarantee you that you are not allowed to provide them the score with a credit Karma screenshot!

This!
It would take me less than 5 minutes to give myself a perfect VantageScore on a Credit Karma screenshot. Bad credit . . . nothing a little Photoshop can't fix!
crunching_numbers - naw, you aren't slow. The whole thing is hockie. For the bank to tell me to go to Credit Karma, print out a screen shot, showing my credit scores are over 650, to be considered for the job is bogus.
I mean, seriously, don't they know they are FAKO scores? And seriously, they are a MAJOR bank, they can pull REAL FICO scores on their own - why should I do the work for them?
Me thinks that the employee engineering this - I mean, in charge of this project - is going off script. I don't think the big wigs have a clue what is going on.
The bank wants to hire me for something in marketing -- I would not be handling cash or customer files. So really, there is no need to know my credit score.
I passed on the opportunity. The whole thing sounds hockie, and I am not going to jeapordize my identity with providing the screen shot of Credit Karma.
