Credit Karma moving to once a week updates instead of daily

My iPad app has already moved to a weekly update. A response by CK to a question on Facebook, confirmed the website version will soon be once a week as well.

Really? I find myself using it to check changes only - never CSs - weekly will have to do.

I check my CR details daily that way. That is a real bummer for me. Smiley Sad

I could care less about the FAKO's, but I may need to get a better service now.

If I'm understanding them correctly, the alerts should continue daily, but it won't reflect on the dashboard.

Re: Credit Karma moving to once a week updates instead of daily

It saw it as a free, helpful aid for helping me to minimize the impact of identity theft...I checked it every afternoon, figuring that if someone started app'ing for stuff, I'd see that within 24 hours. I had a friend who had some stranger use his credit info. over the course of a week! They bought $900 football tickets, tried to buy cars at 2 different dealerships, etc. Had he checked CK each day, maybe at least some of that mess he was left with to clean up could have been prevented. Smiley Sad

Damn. I love checking every day for the security trishadish mentions and just for the sheer OCDness of it. Smiley Embarassed

It never goes well when a company decreases its level of service -- though for the big bucks we're paying I guess they're entitled to. Since they rely on people applying for credit through their site, though, I wonder what they hope to gain by making their most active members cut down their visits to 1/7th of the old rate?

That;s not a very good solution.  It only pulls TU.  They could app and get accounts, loans, etc, on the other two and you wouldn't know until it's way to late.

So that's why you also monitor Eq here at MyFico and Ex via CS or some other service. True CK checks only TU. But it's the best FREE service for doing that. I don't think anybody means to imply that you'd want to check ONLY CK.

Re: Credit Karma moving to once a week updates instead of daily

I want to be more upset about this, but...lately CK is driving me nuts.  I had to contact them about a tech issue a week ago and quickly learned that their customer service is awful.  And for the past 2 months, their score estimate for me has been REALLY off.  They're putting me at a 688 when my TU is always between 730 and 745.  I damn near had a heart attack when it plunged to 688 one day!  I have never pulled a FICO TU report so fast! Smiley LOL

TU: 793 (6/13/17) | EQ: 787 (7/17/17) | EX: 788 (6/15/18)

Cap1 Quicksilver, $4,750 (4/2012); Discover IT, $40,000 (10/2012); Chase Amazon Rewards, $14,600 (10/2012); AMEX Hilton HHonors, $15,000 (11/2012); AMEX Blue Cash Everyday, $15,000 (01/2013); Barclaycard Arrival+, $10,000 (07/2013); Citi Home Depot $8,000 (06/2018)
