I log into my credit karma frequently and see it jumped by 13 points both scores. I know this score is typically further off from the Fico model but if there is a rise in this score is that an indication that my fico may have risen a bit as well? I haven't pulled a more recent fico one yet I wanna limit it to pulling it about once every two months.
Thanks!

Robert07 noticed the highlighted sentence above too. Can you tell us more about your reluctance to get frequent FICO scores?
I can think of two concerns you might have. One, you might think that frequent pulling of your reports or scores counts against you, e.g. as a hard inquiry. It does not. You could pull your reports and scores every day and it would have zero impact on your score (and it would not be visible on your reports either).
Two, you might be worried about the expense. We can suggest some free or ultra-low cost tools for pulling your FICO 8 scores. And free tools for pulling your reports (as distinct from scores) are all over the place. Have you pulled your reports and gone through them, line by line, recently?
Zave,
There is no way to tell if a FICO score will rise because a VS 3.0 score increased. While the two may follow similar patterns, others have reported a FICO score increase at same time they had a VS 3.0 decrease and vice versa. The only way to know what's going on with your FICO scores is to check them. The frequency with which you check them has no bearing at all on your scores. I check my FICO scores at least weekly, sometimes even more often if I know that changes are happening.

You hit the nail on the head! Can you please send me the link to the thread that offers or has a list I can pull these? Or if you know any off hand that would be great. I am new to this and am trying to become an expert on credit monitoring.
This is what I used before I got a Discover IT card. Now it's right in the app for me, but you can check here once a month: https://www.discover.com/free-credit-score/

The free credit score provided monthly to everyone (non-Discover members included) is an EX FICO 08 score. The score provided to a Discover card member on their account monthly is a TU FICO 08 score. Both of these scores are beneficial, as they aren't the same. Even though you now have a Discover card, there's still value in you checking your EX score monthly from creditscorecard.com.
