How come my credit karma scores are higher than myfico.com? Is this a fako score?
Yes they are FAKO scores.
They are FAKOs, but not the worst ones. They are VantageScore 3's. Some creditors use them, but not enough to really value the score. Mine have run higher, but the gap is closing as my scores rise and I add positive lines of credit. They used to be almost 100 points higher in a couple cases, but now it's more like 20 or 30 points higher.

Take the time to search the board's search spot above to the right for Credit Karma to understand the difference between it and MyFico or Fico vs Fako scores.
A free Vantage-based solution like Karma can be an effective (and cheap) way to track credit score improvement over time, especially if you combine it with a once-per-year pull of all your FICO scores. Let me know if you want me to explore how that could work.
Regardless of the value of the scores, Karma is certainly great for getting a free source of TU and EQ reports as often as once per week, as one of the other commenters on this thread mentioned.
I like to look at CK to see what my scores are going to be one day. ![]()

Different scoring model. Even FICO has a number of different scoring models that will have an impact on the number generated. Always consider the specific model.
