Credit Reporting Agencies and inaccurate information

Transunion - TU shows 4 60 days plus past due student loans on my credit report. The information is inaccurate and I have letters from the Higher Education Coordinating Board stating this (Emails). They have contacted TU and I have contacted TU but they are still on there.  What can I do at this point to get them removed?  Is there an agency I can complain to?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Credit Reporting Agencies and inaccurate information

Simple. You dont need any third parrty review now.  Just send this full-blown letter to the CRA IN WRITING:

This is a dispute under FCRA 611(a) (1)(A) of the accuracy and completeness of the following items of information included in my credit report.

I dispute all delinquencies under this named account, and request their immediate deletion.

More specifically, my credit report contains the posting of 60-day late payments under an account identified as:

Higher Education Coordinating Board

Posted account number:  (XXXXXXX)

I understand your right to independently first contact the creditor, under the provisons of FCRA 611(a)(2), as part of your investigation of this dispute, but I may be able to save you some expense, and both of us some time, if you first review the following attached communiations that I have received from the Higher Education Coordinating Board.  They should substantiate my dispute without need for contact with them.

If you should choose to refer this to the creditor for their review, this must be done within 5-days of your date of receipt of this letter (FCRA 611(a)(2)(A)), and must include "all relevant information regarding the dispute that the agency (i.e., you) have received from the consumer.."

I clearly consider their prior communications to me to be, not only relevant, but dispositive, of this issue.  Thus, use of any automated system to forward this dispute to the creditor, such as E-Oscar, that does not include forwarding of this information to the creditor, will be considered a clear violation of FCRA 611(a)(2)(A).

Results of  your investigation, and reinvestigation, are required to be reported back to me within 30-days of the date of this letter of dispute.

If not received within the presribed time period, deletion of the disputed information is requuired from my credit report

In the obscure chance that your reinvestigation should affirm the accuracy and completeness of the disputed items, I further request, under the provisions of FCRA 611(a)(6)(B)(iii), that you provide me  a full "description of the procedure used to determine the accuracy and completeness of the information..."

That includes you use, or non-use, of E-Oscar, and what you forwarded to the creditor.

Sincerely,

(Dat be You!)
