I applied for a Discover card and got approved. The question i had was they pulled from Transunion and the score was 709 but here at MyFico, its showing 758 (9/10/2011). Why such a wide variance? MyFico isnt another Faco site?
The FICO TU score at myfico is a version called TU 98. Its possible Discover uses a newer FICO TU version like TU 04 or TU 08.
Does this apply to Equifax? Is MyFico plan on using the latest version so that we all have the correct score? Its weird because I was told MyFico had the true scores but it seems by seeing the difference is scores that its no different than the Faco sites? I dont know why were paying for something when I could get it for free at places like credit karma. Disappointing!

If a lender pulls your EQ FICO score, it will be the same as your EQ FICO score here. While the current TU FICO score (TU 98) available here is an older version, many lenders are stilling using it. In fact, millions of TU 98 FICO scores were pulled last year. So, while TU 98 isn't as widely used, it is still a TU FICO score, not a FAKO score.
Thank you very much for your answers. It was very helpfull.
Thanks.
And to add, while the EQ FICO score on here is 6 years old and there are newer ones just 2-3 years old, lender prefer to use the older versions. The point I'm driving at is just because a score is old, doesn't mean lenders prefer to use newer ones.
Thanks
