So last night I attempted to sign up for credit check total.
There was an error in the system and after signing up it said it had successfully created the account and found my info but there were technical difficulties and it was unable to display my credit score. It also said my credit card would not be billed.
So today I decided to give it a shot and see if it was a temporary problem. So I went to their website and tried logging in with the info I used to create the account last night. The system came back with a message that the account didnt exist. So I figured last night was a fluke and proceded to create the account again. After filling out the form it states that the username is already in use. So the system is telling me that the account does not exist and exists at the same time.
So to prevent duplicate accounts, I call customer service to see if they can help.
After calling the toll free number and going through the automated system and finally getting the phone to ring, thinking a real person will answer, the system hangs up on me.
So I try again. This time I get through and actually get to speak to a person and this is what I am told...
First she says there was an error with the system, then she says there was an error because there is no information on my credit profile to generate a score or account.
I informed her of my age and the accounts I have and that all the other websites that display your report have never had a problem. She has no explaination for that.
I informed her the website had stated there were technical difficulties and I would like the account deleted so I can attempt again. She said the account can not be deleted "for auditing reasons" and that I need to start a new account with a different username. Im guessing the system wont let me considering my ssn is already there under a different account, although the system says that account doesent exist.
Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Can't decide if I want to try again or not. They seem to be pretty unorganized and the lady on the oher end of the phone was clueless.
So I tried again like she advised. Here is the responce once again.
We have successfully completed your registration, however we were unable to pull your credit report due to temporary technical difficulties. Your credit card has not been charged.

Also, as before when I login with my new login it does not work.
So I called back again.
Was on the phone for quite awhile with another rep who was actually helpful.
I was told that I dont have a credit file. There is nothing on my report so the system cant generate a score or profile. Which I find strange considering my scores here on my fico and on credit K.
Doesent make any sense. I have 6 open trade lines.
My account says I should get a three bureau report now, but the system won't let me. I am not happy. Thinking of cancelling the whole thing.
Maybe you guys can contact Experian the mother company of CCT. EX from my dealings has been far and away the best of the three.
I am considering cancelling Credit Check Total and going back to Experian.
I think its garden time for me. Cancelling all monitoring for 6 months.
No new accounts, no monitoring, just growing.
Experian Credit Tracker is very good. $1 for 1 week, then cancel and be offered $9.99/month. They have a great app. And ECT updates very fast when something changes on your file. I'd encourage you get it. Just because of your negative experience with MyFico, it does not make sense to stop monitoring. And just because you're gardening does mean that something negative can't pop up. No monitor, no corrective action.
Don't shoot yourself in the foot by being stubborn. If you want to buy a house in the next year, you'd better be monitoring to stay on top of your credit record.
Maybe I should have been more clear.
Im not that concerned about monitoring my scores. Ofcourse I would continue to monitor my reports.
I actually have identity protection that monitors my reports like a hawk. I just dont get scores from it. I can live with that
While CreditKarma.com's scores are not Fico scores and can be off depending on your Fico scores, they are free and you get a weekly score update. CK's credit reports are very good. Give it a try. The app is good too.
