I can verify the long wait times: it took them 2 hours and 17 minutes to get to me.  I wasn't asked why I wanted to cancel, and I was told the half-price special didn't exist.  There was also no email contact listed for canceling.   As far as I'm concerned, it's an obvious attempt to get people to lazy out of bothering and continue to pay the $30 a month.

As we've said many times, just email help@creditchecktotal.com to cancel the membership to avoid long phone wait time, plus you have proof you cancelled. Below is an email I sent on the 27th and I got an email today confirming cancellation:

Hello, I called twice today to cancel my $1 3-Bureau Credit Report & FICO Scores 7-day trial membership in CreditCheck Total and could not get through.  This email is my proof that I requested that the 7-day trial membership be cancelled effective today, December 27, 2017. My membership number is XXXXXXXXX. Please do NOT charge my credit card a monthly fee. This will avoid me having to dispute the charge. Thank you

Please feel free to cut and paste.

Re: Credit check total

Update for anyone who was wondering, I just called credit check total to cancel my memebership and it seems like they have completely switched over to automated system for cancelling memeberships.. I just had to confirm my identity and follow yes or no prompts and the automated machine gave me a cancellation confirmation!

Re: Credit check total

What number did you call? I just tried calling (866) 506-7894 and they're quoting a 2 hours wait time.  This is after navigating:

Key press 1: Membership

Key press 1:  Cancel membership

I've also sent an email so unless you have a more streamlined number, I will probably just let my email ride.  Thanks

Re: Credit check total

That’s very odd. I called the exact number and followed the same prompts, so I don’t know what the issue could be. I’m also kinda freaked out bc I just checked online and it says it’s still set to bill me later next week. I just remember I followed the prompts and then an automated message said something along the lines of “Your membership has been downgraded to the free version”, and then gave me a reference number. Maybe it takes some time to go through, who knows.

Re: Credit check total

Are any of you guys are also running Experian’s IdentityWorks? If so be careful. I followed the automated prompts on CCT’s number as well and they said they downgraded me then I got an email that they canceled my IdentityWorks instead of CCT. So I sent an email and I don’t care if they charge me before they respond to my email because it will be reimbursed.

That operation is a joke.

Re: Credit check total

What exactly is the "free" version?  Doesn't it go from the $1 trial to a monthly membership, like one or the other?

Re: Credit check total

Exactly. Read my post, BBS. They probably are also paying for another Experian product that just got canceled instead of CCT. It’s a mess over there man.

Re: Credit check total

Yeah, they definitely offer multiple products so if you go through an automated system once it identifies you there's no way of knowing which product they are pulling up on you.  It's completely feasible that you'd be modifying the wrong product if you possess multiple Experian products.

Re: Credit check total

That is exactly what happened to me, went through the automated system to cancel, found out a day later they canceled my Experian Credit Works instead, called the number on Experian site with little wait time, CSR apologized, restored my Credit Works subscription and canceled my CCT for me in about 5 mins.

Might just be the easiest way to cancel CCT yet. lol
