Credit fraud

Here is my situation, I was the victim of identity Theft. So per procedure I disputed the information with my credit cards. The problem that I am in running into now is this, my Macy’s card has been blocked by credit protection, because the so per procedure I disputed the information with my credit cards. The problem that I am in running into now is this, my Macy’s card has been blocked by credit protection, because of the dispute. The identity theft situation has been taken care of but I can’t seem to get the block removed. The fraud department keeps on telling me you have to wait for a letter that we are sending you. I will have a number for you to call. I can’t wait for that’s because I am in the middle of a bit of an emergency that I must use my card for. I’ve tried calling multiple times speaking to supervisors, calling three different executive offices to no avail. I’m wondering if anybody has received a similar letter to this, and if they may still have the phone number?

Re: Credit fraud

You'll have to wait of the letter, sorry. It will have a number to call, and they will want you to read them a specific line from the letter that has a combo of numbers and letters. They will want to make sure its you.

Im confused as well on something...Why is it an emergency that you need to use your Macy's card right now?

Re: Credit fraud

I have an emergency trip that I have to make out to California, and really the only funds that I have is my Macy’s card without liquidating Investments.

Re: Credit fraud

They said that I would also receive a phone call and they would leave me A phone number to call to back at. Wondering if anybody might have that phone number that they would leave on the voicemail?

OP, as mentioned above by @pizza1, there's not much that can be done in regard to speeding up the security process for them to unblock the account.  The information will be either in the correspondence you receive or if they attempt to contact you by phone, whichever comes first.

What about accounts you currently have such as your Nordstrom Visa?  IIRC, you posted that you've managed to obtain a CLI to $20,000.  What about the BBVA Amex...what is the status of that account?  What about your AmEx CC's, such as Delta Platinum or the more recent ones you obtained less that a year ago, Delta Reserve and/or SPG Luxury?  Any others you can tap into while the Macy's security issue is mitigated?

Re: Credit fraud

Not an option. Unfortunately because of the identity theft all of those are also tied up

Re: Credit fraud

You mentioned an emergency trip to Cali, how soon does that need to be made?  Are you driving to Cali on your own person or planning to book a flight, hotel reservation and/or rent a car?

Re: Credit fraud

Can you use a debit card? Do you have any money in savings you can use temporarily?
