exactly , that is why I am asking here if this is something that is typically asked for . I've never been asked for my license or a utility bill on any of my credit cards . The odd thing is , I havent even used this card in almost 18 months . I did Check my online account . The balance shows the charges. But, when you go to see the transactions it shows none. I actually screen shot the app and what my account shows. I also Recorded the second conversation. I continued to ask for a manager , or supervisor , they transferred me so many times . I dont Think they sent me to a supervisor , I felt like they were transferring me from one customer service rep to another
I'm not sure what you are implying , however I came here to see if this is something that is typically asked for. I'm 49 years old , and a professional. I'm not here to give a half of a story . I've never had anything like this happen before .
@NRB525 I tried Calling today , and calling and calling . They keep saying due to heavy call volume to try again. If you go on line which i did , it shows my balance with those charges . But doesn't show the transactions . Took screen shots . When you click on the lost or stolen button it gives you the phone number and tells you to call. I'm so frustrated . This is insane . I've never had anything like this before

I don't know if it's typical, but it happened to me with Capital One recently. My oldest card is a secured card I've kept active just because it's my oldest card. I went to use it for some small thing and it was instantly made inactive. Called and asked what the problem was and they refused to tell me. I said fine, then just close it. They refused to close it until I sent them a picture of the back of my drivers license. They sent me a link to do that, I sent them the picture, and the card was cancelled. Still waiting for my deposit to be returned. That's all I've got for you, friend. Good luck with getting the charges and card cancelled.

Seems as though since the charges do exist in your actual account that the calls were legit.
Sometimes even when people initially apply for credit cards they are asked to provide DL, bank statements, utilitiy bills etc to verify identity so it's not out of the realm of what card companies do request from customers.
This is definitely a bad time for this to happen because it is taking ridiculously long times to contact companies. (I had to invest 7+ hours over 4 phone calls just to get an order from walmart corrected this week. Avergage time before this coronavirus situation was never longer than 15 to 20 minutes to resolve a problem.)
You may have to keep trying to contact them to make sure you provide the requested information to the correct department (if not provided in previous phone calls). If they already told you where and/or how to provide the documents you need to get that taken care of and if not be prepared to endure the long wait times until you can get though. (no easy way around it right now).
If charges posted to your account the transactions have to be there, so perhaps they are on an older statement?
As for closing any account with a balance, especially if they're fraudulent/disputed, then most lenders aren't going to want to close it immediately with you walking away. The actual right thing would be for them close to new charges and issue a new card, then investigate the disputed charges.
Asking for ID after the fact is new to me, I never once had to supply any docs to Discover regarding mine. I also am not familiar with Credit One, but if the charges are indeed not yours you should be able to dispute them online. I was able to do this with Discover.
It is also unfortunate that it is happening during this "extra long call wait' issues. However, persistance is key in situations like this and you need to resolve this as quickly as possible. If you have other cards to sue perhaps you should just report it stolen on the website to at least have it shut down, and that should prompt a call from them.

I was called regarding a now defunct Comenity co-branded Visa in real time asking if I was purchasing gas in Brooklyn, NY. I wasn't, nor do I live in NY. I'm certain they didn't ask me anything personal.
