Credit report is gone

About three months ago I began the credit score war. I pulled my credit report form all three places and disputed alot of items with each place. I got wrapped up in one of those credit card settlement scams which was supposed to erase blemishes from my report once paid or settled but never did. Anyways, TU did in fact delete all the negative items from my report, but now I have no credit history with them!!! Every time I try to pull a report or score with them I cant because I have insufficuent credit history. I have had credit cards for 11 years, owned 3 different brand new cars, all these account are in good standing, so I am not really sure what happened??? Any suggestions???? Anyone???

Re: Credit report is gone

This happened to me about 5 Years ago.  When I finally got finished with the "Career Change" I decided on ($90k a year to $19k a year, so worth the stress free life) I started working on my credit.  Of course I had a CR about 4 pages long with countless collections, charge-offs, Judgements just a ridiculouse number of accounts default (but again so worth the stress free life).

I knew it would take YEARS to fix my credit so I started plugging away, found several account listed twice, one was even listed 4 times by same CA.  Filed online disputes with TU and EX (I skipped EQ because the needed letters and didn't have the time to write letters).  Within 2 months TU deleted my entire credit history, EX did the same.  I called EQ and disputed over the phone, and again entire Credit history was deleted but ended up changing my birth year to 10 years earlier (Probably felt how eshausted I was and thought I had age 10 years just on that one phone call, lol) but that's fixed now as well.

It sucked because I lost really good old accounts through the process (some if still there would be 18 yrs old), but I just kept my mouth shut and lived with it.  I tryed calling my old creditors to have them report the good ones again but I haven't had success.  I acepted it and now 5 years later, I had a few Judgments from 2 years ago pop-up (didn't know SOL rules and didn't show up to court), but I'm sitting on a FICO that ranges from 620-688 depending on the day of the week Smiley Happy

Sorry if I hijacked your thread, but my point was I haven't had sucess having old good TL's added back to CR........

Re: Credit report is gone

You'll need to develop a credit profile... It could be ALOT worse I promise...

Open one or two secured cards and you'll be fine in a short period of time.

Re: Credit report is gone

Starting from scratch can build credit faster then waiting 7 years with mistakes. Start applying for cc's. Since you have nothing.... basically a blank report, my opinion is, more the better. In your case not anyone else, if you get 1 card your average age will be 1. If you get 20 your average will still be 1. Inq's will drop off after 2 years. If you have the time to wait 12 months for a decent credit score, apply for every credit card you can get even secured over the next 6 months. The faster you build your history the better it will be in 1-2 years. Might as well take the hit now while you don't have much to loose.

This ONLY applies if your credit report is empty. Starting from scratch. Just my opinion.

That's exactly what I did.  EVERYTHING dropped and I just started over like I was 18 again, but I had the atvantage of being a little more Financialy responsible.  Only thing "To many new accounts", "limited account history" is my problem now...instead of "Too many lates", Or "Too Many Collections"..     Smiley Happy

Re: Credit report is gone

I'd personally rather have no credit than bad credit! Just do like the others said, start with small cards/dept cards and build yourself up! Have fun, you got another chance, run with it baby!!!Smiley Wink

Yea, too many right now is actually a good thing. Smiley Happy You won't see that after 12 months followed by a big score jump.

Re: Credit report is gone

I've got a bunch of new accounts. My score is noticeably dropping and will for the next year. I have some time again to wait out this drop. After about 1 year my score will bounce higher than it started from. I think of it like working out at the gym. You gonna be sore for a while but stronger later. You just don't do a hard work out before you need your strength! Basically, you need to build your credit before you need it. It most definitely takes lots of time, 1-2 years and more.
