I just did the cancel trick and I only got 1 year of the $14.95 rate, not 2. Should I call back...?

Well, personally I would wait a year and then cancel and see if you get the second year at that price. If you call back they're going to wonder about why you would ask for another year of the reduced price.

I had thought about that but I could say that I have 2 friends that said they got 2 years...IDK. I obviously don't want to blow a discount for everyone. Just curious.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

I also just tried to cancel and was only offered 1 year at 14$. I took it obviously but it looks like they may be starting to rein in the discount?

Re: CreditCheckTotal

For those who have high scores, and not really in the process of rebuilding or waiting to obtain any new trade lines for a while, would you still recommend having a monitoring service just to keep track of changes or surprises? Or is pulling reports a couple times a year enough?

I like the monitoring service to make sure my identity or CC haven't been hijacked or stolen and no unauthorized usage. This world has gone crazy.

That stinks. Same story for me...

Did you try to recon at all? I haven't yet because I don't want to potentially mess anything up for anyone.

Just give it a year and call to cancel then, I'm sure they'll offer another discount to keep a subscription. Or who knows, by then there might be another service that offers something better.

I absolutely agree.  I am on the the 2 year $14.97 plan, however even with that when I signed up the rep told me to be sure to call back during the 24th month, as there would almost certainly be another retention offer.   It seems to me that this industry (report and score reporting services) is becoming more and more competitive, which should benefit the consumer.

Year 2012: All Scores in the 520 range, during a foreclosure, CC Settlement and high UTIL. Very ugly days...
Sept 2024: EX8: 847; EQ8: 850; TU8: 848 -- Middle Mortgage Score: 821
In My Wallet: Discover $73.7K; Cap1 Venture $51.7K; Amex ED $38K; Amex Optima $2.5K; Amex Delta Gold $18K; Citi Costco $24.5K; Cap1 Plat $8.4K; Barclay $7K; Chase Amazon $6K; BoA Plat $21.6K; Citi TY Pref $22K; US Bank $4K; Dell $5K; Care Credit $6.5K. Total Revolving CL: $300K+
My UTIL: Less than 1% - Only allow about $20 a month to report, on one account. .

Re: CreditCheckTotal

Also 12 months at the $14.97 a month. And I just cancelled MyFico.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

Just called to cancel. Was offered the $14.97 per month for 12 months. I took it.

Looks like they're not offering the 2 years anymore?
