Re: CreditCheckTotal

I got the 5yr/50% off thru the automated system. Not that I would keep it that long.

Re: Credit Check Total

Puckster, I was in your exact shoes. I called 10 minutes after closing and chose the automated system. Got all the way to the end with the automated cancel system when it quickly transferred me to a live rep even though it was 10 minutes past closing. I didn't hang up and subsequently was only offered 1YEAR at half price, not even the 2 year. I thought over and over again what would have happened if I just hung up like you. What might be happening is that since you already completed 3/4's of the cancellation before hanging up that the system may now just honor your cancellation request without offering anything else. This is just a guess. Fraud alert I suspect has little to do with it. It's possibly just looking at it like this person wants to cancel and has already hung up on a live rep so we don't want to bother them anymore on retention pitches. As I said I was transferred over as well and I have no fraud alert.

Re: Credit Check Total

Keep us posted, Puckster. I'm curious what will happen since I would have been in the same boat if I didn't stay on the line for a rep. I wish I hung up too.

I know you say you have tried using InternetExplorer . Have you added credit check total to your trusted sites?

Re: Credit Check Total

I didn't try calling today as I was busy.  I will try again tomorrow.  Just wondering why some people get the 5 yr offer through automated and all I get was sent to a Rep.  Oh well.  I will see how it goes.  I guess half off is fine for a year or 2.

Re: Credit Check Total

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the automated system to work, so I just got the 12mos at 14.97. I figure at the end of 12mos they will extend it or I will start something different.

Re: Credit Check Total

So I didn't get to call yesterday but just did so now.  I got to the point where they said I could go through the automated part.  I asked to cancel and it went through a few things to identify myself, date of birth, membership #, zip code.  After I put that in it said that I might have a problem with finances and it offered me the 5 years at 50% off.  So I said yes.  Thanks guys.  Glad it worked this time.  I was willing to talk to a person for 1 or 2 years, but the 5 yr deal is better.  Don't know if I will need all 5 yrs but who knows at this time.
