Re: CreditCheckTotal

Glad to hear it worked out for you, Puckster! You're right in the sense that even if they gave you a year in that time they'd probably re-sign you for another to keep you but you've now avoided the hassle of dealing with them. I will take my year for now. I should have hung up like you, puck. Oh well. What I've found to do is use my credit Karma weekly pull to base when I pull my reports so I can use them smartly. So if I notice a change in my FAKO or a new bill I pull it to see my real score which surprisingly is only off by 1-3 points for each bureau. I know some people claim their CK score is far off from their real FICO. Mine is dead on!

That's a good idea. Has that been 100% accurate? Change in FAKO means change in FICO?

Anyways I'm going to cancel. Now that I've pretty much in the garden phase. I don't see need for $180/year to check my scores. Using CK for reports. Amex for monthly EX. TU for monthly EQ enhanced. Barclay for monthly or bi-monthly TU.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

It's worked so far. I must say I've only used Credit Karma for about a month. They are an awesome resource for your reports and you can absolutely fill in the holes with your credit card FICO and maybe a quarterly pull of experian or even just yearly using annualcreditreport.com. Like you, my Discover gives me my TU which because I'm in the NE is my main bureau that everything runs through. Fun fact, I actually live 5 minutes from their HQ.

I think you're playing it smart using CK and your credit card statement FICO to monitor. For me as we speak my CK TU FAKO is 701 and my EQ FAKO is 713. My real FICO scores are listed in my signature but you'll notice they are within a 3 pt error margin. I'm not saying that I'm the rule, I may be an anomaly but that's how it's been since I signed up. If nothing else, no one would argue that their reports aren't proper accurate reports and with your free scores you're being the smartest credit watcher of them all. When you tell people what they're really spending annually for this service rather than monthly it puts it into perspective. When you said $180 I even thought "oh crap, that's a bit absurd" to spend that for something most top finance professionals recommend you do for free-monitoring your credit.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

Not sure what the total amount I am spending a year is, however I am looking at going on an App Spree in Jan/Feb '16, so I think I will keep signed up with all that I am and then after the spree cancel all but a couple.  This is what I am signed up with.  CK (free), My Fico, Ex-EQ-TU proper and CCT.  Here are my scores (CK and Fico Score).

CK - TU-744 EQ- 743

FIco 8 - TU- 742 EQ - 723

So while TU is basically the same (FAKO vs FICO) EQ is a difference of 20 points.  Not sure what that means.  Right now I am gardening as I am working on lowering my utilization.  It being 26% for both TU and EQ and 36% with EX.  FOr some reason EX is not reporting my Discover Card account (which I am an AU on) and has an 11k limit.  Right now I have a bit over 10,000 in debt.  Half of which is on an Chase Slate card with 0% which runs out in January.  I hope to have most of that paid off by then.  By Feb 1st I hope to have under 10% Util or close to it.  Wish me luck.

Current Scores - EX-754, EQ-716, TU-751 Cards - Amex BCP(13800), Amex PRG, Amex Everyday(5000), Discover IT(3000), Navy Fed Go Rewards(11800), Cap One Sony Card(4000), Chase Freedom(5000), Chase Slate(5000)

Re: CreditCheckTotal

I'm cancelling my CCT. The next belling cycle is on 9/20. My 3 pulls refresh on 9/16.

My question is can I use my pull on 9/16 without being charged?

Re: CreditCheckTotal

I have credit check total as well and there scores are way off, I do like getting my reports but I have also noticed that all sites show things differently on reports. Credit Karma is different then Credit check total etc. My transunion score according to them is the highest but credit check total shows something much lower. Is there a way to get true fico score monitoring ? I am subscribed to several different sites just to get credit reports.

CCT is true Fico 8 scoring where Credit Karma is FAKO. I only use CK for credit monitoring.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

Steel city is 100% correct, CCT is fico 8 scores just like the ones here. And CK is not fico scores and therefore will not be the same and the the algorithm is totally different. And therefore the scores can be wildly different.

Re: Credit Check Total

Today is my 7th and final day of my trial period, I was able to pull another 3 CA report and I do see daily updated EX score. I used the automated system to cancel and got 50% off for 5 years. I accepted the offer and I think this is a great deal.

Re: Credit Check Total

Quick CCT question...

when I log in it automatically shows me my updated EX score and info on the screen. If I scroll down and click the updated EX report link it takes me to a new reports page where it shows me my updated EX report. My question is why is my credit revolving debt amount on the opening page different from the revolving debt on the updated EX report. If both give updated EX info from today shouldn't the revolving debt numbers be the same? Thanks
