Re: CreditCheckTotal

I love their reports but when I join using the 7 day trial or regular membership I keep getting emails acknowledging my password change request which I am not requesting. I get 2-3 a day. I called CCT and they say they can see them going out but have no idea how to stop them. Also, awhile back I accepted the50% off for 3 years promo and then canceled a few months later. Now when I try to accept the 50% off, they can’t get it to go through. I have tried the automated and live systems to get the 50% again but they can’t get it to apply. So now I just get it for $2 a month and a little time on the phone.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

I was looking at my reports today on Experians Credit Check Total and I notice it says I have 7 accounts with lates. Last one being 29 months ago. I think these are having an adverse effect so I have prepared Goodwill letters for the 4 accounts I can see on each report in an effort to get them removed.

The problem I have is I am unable to locate the 7 accounts. I see 4 accounts which have 17 late payments between them. One is my mortgage which has 9 of them from just before my divorce. I want to send out these GW letters all at once. Is there a way CCT will show me these 7 accounts to which it refers? When I go to Factors and see the “7 accounts” I cannot click on it. Is there a way to isolate them?

Why $4?  Shouldn't it just be $2?  When you cancel your trial membership you are getting another 3B pull 7 days later, so for $2 you get an update every week for the whole month.  Are you doubling that up with double trials and getting updates twice per week?

Re: CreditCheckTotal

I just went to cancel my trial subscription with CreditCheckTotal (no problems with it, I just don't see any urgent need for maintaining a full account at this time). I had no difficulty whatever cancelling, though I do wish they had an option for hearing-impaired people easier than making you use the phone (which I always hate even when I'm using a TTY), but for whatever reason the rep didn't offer me any kind of discount or sale price, just said, "Sure, no problem, we'll be glad to help you", asked for a couple of pieces of verifying info, and then cancelled my trial and told me "OK, you're all good to go, you won't be charged for anything after the 17th".  H'm. Odd. From what I'd been hearing I thought everyone was being offered big discounts to keep their accounts open with them, or am I behind the news curve?

Re: CreditCheckTotal

Next time use option 1 to cancel through the automated system. I did that a few minutes ago and it offered me the 50% off for a year. Or just pay the $1 when you need it and remember to cancel. That is what I do. $4 a month for all 2 scores 4 times a month.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

Also, you should take the VantageScore scores out of your siggy and use that space for something useful. They look better than your FICO 8's but they are useless. Nobody will EVER ask for your VS to approve you for anything.

Oh, so that's what you have to do! I didn't even know that that was specifically what you needed to do; I'm just totally used to having the TDD relay operator look for an actual live person to talk to. Oh well - I might or might not have taken the discount, but it's a moot point since I can always re-apply in the fall once I come out of the garden to try for my Visa.

Re: CreditCheckTotal

They regular reps should offer it. You probably got someone who just didn't care to go into all that.

No doubt. It's Easter weekend, after all.
