Crossing thresholds Aggregate vs Individual

I know that it is pretty much a consensus when you cross threshold for aggregate (9%, 29%,49%,69%) you pick up a few points but does the same occur when you cross them for individual cards?

Say for instance crossing a individual threshold from >9% but <29% to <9%

Which of these would garner the most points (crossing one threshold)

>49% but <69% to 48%  2 cards

>29% but <49% to 28%  2 cards

>09% but <29% to 08%  2 cards

Aggregate will remain around >29% but <49%

Re: Crossing thresholds Aggregate vs Individual

When it comes to individual cards, the answer much of the time is "it depends."  It's really profile specific.  You'll hear some people say they see a score change when an individual card crosses 29%, others say that didn't impact their score it it was 49% where they saw a change.  Another factor that may matter is how many other cards are at/above that threshold level.  For example, someone with two cards that are already in the (say) 70%-85% range that has another card cross from 47% to 51% may not see a change, where on a different profile it might matter more.

It has been my experience that an individual card crossing a threshold is roughly 5 points, and aggregate is roughly 20 points.

Depending on which score you are looking to improve (Fico8 responds differently than Fico 2 for instance) is partly what kind of change you'll see; as well, a dirty score card will change a little differently than a clean score card.

You will typically have the same point change at each threshold crossing for individual cards. From maxed out to paid off, each threshold should offer an equal point change, assuming no other changes (crossing an aggregate threshold, change in account age threshold).

Hopefully the muds a little clearer for you.

As @Anonymous  stated one of the big variables is probably profile specific and with that in mind with no other major changes occuring (crossing an aggregate threshold, change in account age threshold) I realize only seeing the outcome after making my choice will show the results.

That being said I will take the next 3 months and apply each scenario and see what the results will end up being (on Fico8 and others) with the knowledge that in 4 months I will cross an AAoA threshold of 2 years and an AoYRA will cross 1 year (which I know will have some positive effects).

Either way all moves made will result in positives during my rebuild which is a satisfying acheivement since joining the forum and consuming new knowledge.

I do not know for sure of any thresholds in aggregate revolving utilization.  In my opinion, the lower your aggregate utilization, the higher your score, and I have never observed any noticeable threshold.  As a general rule it's best to be at 6% or less.

As for individual utilization the only thresholds I'm sure of are below 50% and below 30%.
