Re: DCU hard pulled when said they wouldnt

They already put the request in to have it removed. As far as it not hurting my score I already know that it doesn't. It's more that I'm gardening aside from the one pull to refinance both cars all my previous pulls are from mid 2013 through mid 2014. I am wanting a nearly clean report by 2016 pull wise so any extra I get now will just prolong my wait.
Don’t take your credit for granted, use it with care! These days, catch me in the bankruptcy forum!?

Re: DCU hard pulled when said they wouldnt

Two years ago I purchased a Kia for my 20 year old daughter. Walked in to the dealership and asked for the finance manager. The car was $25K and I told him I wanted to put $15K and finance the balance, BUT I would only allow one HI and that if they couldn't do just One, I would write a check for the full amount. He guaranteed me he had no problem with just the one HI. I wrote the check, signed the documents (wrote ONE credit inquiry only one the authorization section) and the deal was done... Until four or five days later... 4 - FOUR HI's on my credit.... 1) The dealership - 2) Credco - 3) Kia Motors Finance - 4) KMFC (2 street numbers away from Kia Motors Finance) ...

I called the Dealership first and asked for the GM... told him the problem and he said he couldn't do anything about it... I then called the rest of them and basically, they all said the same thing... I was furious... A couple of weeks go by and one night while on Facebook, I had an idea.. I looked up all the Kia FB pages... Kia USA, Kia World, Kia Escondido, etc... yup... they all have FB pages... I grabbed a glass of wine and began posting on their pages... On each, for several days, I wrote the following in variation:

"DON'T BUY A KIA! Buy that Mercedes, Lexus, or whatever your dream vehicle is because when you buy from KIA, it KILLS YOUR CREDIT SCORE - They make multiple unauthorized hard inquiries on your credit score that are impossible to get removed! In my case, 4 total... who knows, they may do 5, 8 or more hard inquiries on you. It cost you more than the sticker price, it cost you your credit worthyness rating! So you might as well buy what your dream vehicle now because what they do to your credit score is going to hurt your score anyway... " and on and on I went... I posted every day or so on each of the sites and the glass of wine allowed me to make it fun and funny... It was sweet revenge even though I didn't think it would help... I was wrong... Kia Motors Headquarters contacted me through private message and the final outcome was that all but one was removed from my credit report... I think it was the fact that every post on all pages started with 'DON'T BUY A KIA!' ... not so good of a message for their brand...

I would let them know if they don't remove one of them (they will say they can't) that you will Yelp, Twitter & FB pages... Good Luck!!!!

I will never understand why people get so bent over INQs.

Maybe it's a matter of principle for the OP.  He was told/promised one thing, and sure as hel l, the exact thing he tried to guard against from happening, happened.

Some people, like me, decide to standup and hold people/companies accountable for what they tell/promise you.

Not a bad characteristic to have I'd say.  Nothing wrong with sticking it to the man after you got stuck, heh?

Just kind of dumbfounded me that they said it wouldn't result in one and did.

It happens and with many creditors, not just DCU.  You can take a look at prior discussions and see for yourself.  If you want to avoid disappointment then always assume a hard pull.  The only way to guarantee that you don't get an HP is to not apply, request CLI's, refinance, etc.
