What is the purpose of doing a DV? Do some of the companies not have valid records and by doing a DV you discover they have no right to have the record on your report? Or is it just the first step in trying to have things deleted via GW?
Please help!
Well, if the account is innacurate or not yours.........that is one purpose.
If it has been sold a few times, then you need to make sure you pay the right company.......another reason.
Some states require CAs to be licensed and/or bonded in order to conduct business......a third.
Some use a DV as a way to buy time so they can pay within the DV period BEFORE it gets reported.......
Finally...........the FDCPA says we have that right...............
LOL..........these are the only reason I can think of right off hand..........I'm tired.
