DD#2 just got a class action settlement notice regarding data theft by a previous database administrator at Certegy Check Services. It appears that depending upon how the individual consumer was involved, they are eligible for a variety of services.
She is specifically eligible for two years of bank monitoring performed by Certegy and reimbursement for identity theft if applicable.
The previous notices she has received involving other data breaches in incidents with other companies have all provided credit monitoring. However, this is the first time I've seen "bank monitoring" offered. What exactly does "bank monitoring" do?
And would she want a company who can't even properly deal with web-site security certificates to monitor her bank account?

This is what we get when we try to check their database to see if she is included in the "class."
Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate. For more information, see "Certificate Errors" in Internet Explorer Help.
Since she already knows she's included, I guess we won't risk "going there."
