Date Reported and disputing?

If a collection agency has not updated an account for over 2 years is there a better chance at getting a positive result from a dispute?

Re: Date Reported and disputing?

Not always.  is the OC still reporting?    The CA might have turned it back to the OC  or if they bought it ....might have resold it. It might also be past CRTP

Do you know what the DOFD/DOLA was?

Re: Date Reported and disputing?

I have a question.... I just signed up with fico and am looking for errors on my CR, if I have a debt that is still showing up after the 7yr time frame, can I report this as an error? Thanks

Re: Date Reported and disputing?

What if the OC isn't on the CR anymore and the DOFD/DOLA isn't reported under the CA? Can the CRA still give me the correct DOFD/DOLA?

Re: Date Reported and disputing?

Unless you have old reports that show the OC    you might have to take the DOFD/DOLA reported by the CA.........look on your TU and EX report for the drop date *will remain on CR until  month/year*. Or call the CRA  and ask.

I would never trust the CA to give correct info.  Can you guess when the dates should be?

Usually if the OC stopped reporting it is past CRTP   that is IF they ever reported.
