Detected Address Change Alert

I received an alert about a new address at the end of March. I haven't moved and I don't recognize the address. My first thought was identity theft, but there haven't been any new accounts opened under my name. The alert doesn't indicate where it got this information, so I went through the dispute process for all three credit reporting agencies and none of their reports indicate the address. Each bureau correct reports 0 inquiries as well.

Does anyone have any idea what's happened here?

How did you get the "alert", text message, email??? Sounds like it might be a scam.

Try to lock all the reports if you can for now just to be safe.

It was an alert from within myFICO's FICO Quarterly Monitoring product. As mentioned, I already got my credit reports from the bureaus directly and there was no indication of the address and also no new inquiries. My best guess is an attempted identity theft?

Are you sure that one of your creditors didn't just slightly change your address?  For example they might have changed it to the USPS standardized address rather than the one you originally gave them.  Or something innocent along those lines.

There are quite a few innocent explanations, without having the data in front of me.  But yeah I understand it's more fun to tell someone to freeze all their reports because the boogey man is coming, etc.

That's easy to check.  Go through your cards (apps or online), and see if address has been changed anywhere. 

The only way demographics items end up on CR is if lender reports them. 

If there are none, do you have any accounts in collections? 

Sometimes collection agencies will report and send mail where they think you might be. They might use friend's or relative's address because paper trail links them to you.
