I recognize that Credit Sesame provides FAKO scores and are pretty much worthless, however I was just wondering if we have any knowledge of them changing scoring models recently. For the past many months, my Credit Sesame score has always been in the 720-730 range, which is pretty close to what my FICO scores run. This month, my CS score jumped up to 801. 801 is pretty much what my Vantage 3.0 scores have been running. Any chance CS has changed to this model?
Thanks for any thoughts!
They. They are now TU, Vantage 3.0.

Credit Sesame used to use Experian but they recently transitioned to TransUnion. The current CS site only describes their score as "TransUnion," but makes no mention of either FICO or VantageScore 3.0. Believe me, they would if they could.
I, too, have noticed that my recent CS TransUnion (TU) scores have matched exactly the TU VantageScores (3.0) reported by both Credit Karma and Lending Tree. Could be coincidence, or maybe CS does buy VantageScores from TU, but perhaps they pay lower fees for VS 3.0 scores that are available without the VS brand name?
Speculation, of course, on my part. Although we'll all see if this trend continues for the next few score cycles.
Direct quote from CS customer support confirms TU VS 3.0 switch:
We switched to TransUnion so we can offer better credit analysis and more credit related services to our customers.
o Better credit analysis because we now present customers with their Transunion Vantage 3 score – a score used by 6 of the 10 largest banks and over 2,000 lenders. Making Vantage 3 from TransUnion a better measure of your true creditworthiness.
o More credit related services in the form of an in-depth breakdown of your credit with ratings of your score factors. And soon we are introducing a tool that simulates the impact of different actions on your credit score, and then instant alerts, which inform you within minutes if somebody is trying to open an account using your credit score.
Unfortunately, we will no longer be providing or displaying Experian information.
I'm still wondering why Credit Sesame doesn't mention "VantageScore 3.0" directly on their website? (I can't find it anywhere, at least for now.)
Although one would think this would change, perhaps very soon (May)?

Don't just assume that. FAKO's are not all the same. There are many that are never used by creditors but VantageScores are (allegedly) used by creditors. If you have a creditor that uses VantageScore 3.0 it is not worthless. It is, however, worthless if you're trying to use it to determine a score generated by a different model but that applies to any model and not just VantageScore or other FAKO's.

It has been brought up in prior discussions as they've been rolling it out. This search doesn't filter out all the irrelevant threads but the first few hits are relevant.

While many sites that offer scores provide info specifying the model, not all do.
