Different Current Status on EQ from MYFICO and from EQ directly?

On 6/12, I ran my EQ both from here and then through annualcreditreport.com on 6/15 (I had a baddie drop early so making sure myfico wasn't messing with me!) That's the same CR from two sources, three days apart, TL's should be the same.

According to the ACR version, one TL reports as "paid coll" in the comments and Current Status is blank while the myfico version says "paid coll" in comments but Current Status is "120+ days Past Due"??? Smiley Surprised

Excuse me?

The account was a defaulted/paid student loan. Paid coll is correct, but I can't tell which version of the Current Status is correct as far as what lenders see. I didn't get the score to go with the ACR version (though it would be FAKO and pointless for comparison), so can't compare scores for match. My only other derog on EQ just dropped bringing me up from 695 to 711 at least according to myfico.

How can I know which is correct and what a lender would see? I qualified for FHA, so I'm not quite a credit leper, but I need to build credit (thin file) and that "120+ days late", even on a "paid coll" TL could get me a denial on any half-decent credit card. This is an older TL (DOFD 8/2002) so it may drop this August or 6 months from now (FCRA 7yrs + 180 days), but I need to so something soon.

The lender will see what you see on your reports that are obtained directly from the CRAs (i.e., annualcreditreport.com).  Since it's paid, you should work on GW letters to the lender.

Re: Different Current Status on EQ from MYFICO and from EQ directly?

Thanks for helping out! The part that troubles me is that if indeed, the annualcreditreport version, with a blank current status is the correct one, where is myfico picking up the late notation from? I suppose an alternative is that it really does say 120+ late and for some reason didn't print out or even get picked up when I pulled it. Don't see how that would happen, but it's an alternative.

I guess in the end, a negative TL is a negative TL. GW won't work because this is a federal student loan and the TL is from the guarantor. Posts in the SL section of this site say don't even bother, no mercy, no exceptions.
