So I signed up for truecredit's 3 bureau system for a free trial today. It pulled all three of my credit reports, but I noticed something on my (7/26) Experian report that was not on a report I ordered directly from Experian about a month ago (6/25). I had disputed the account and it was deleted by Experian in early June.
Confused as to why the account didn't show up on the report I ordered directly from Experian, I went to their website and ordered another one directly from them today (7/26). The one I got today directly from Experian matches the one I got directly from them a month ago.
So how did truecredit end up with an Experian report with the disputed account still on it?
Basically I've ordered two Experian reports today, July 26, 2010; one directly from Experian and one from TrueCredit, and they don't match. Is that possible?
I had TC in the past and never had any issues with reporting, per se. What is missing? Could it be listed under a different name on your TC report? I had that happen with a collection once, but if you clicked for more detail within TC, you could see it better.
The TrueCredit Experian report lists an account, one that was incorrect, that I disputed, and had deleted from all 3 reports. I've since pulled my Equifax and TU here at MyFico, and as expected, the account is not listed. I also pulled my Experian from experian.com, and also as expected, the account wasn't there.
But the Experian report from True Credit does have the account, even though it was deleted, and even though the report purchased directly from Experian doesn't have it.
It definitely couldn't be elsewhere on the report because it was an Amex that was listed as a collection, so I'd definitely notice if there was a collection, even under a different name.
So, in summary, neither report from MyFICO nor the Experian directly from the source shows any collections on them, but the Experian from TrueCredit does show the Amex account.
I don't know....
I have heard of some lag times by some of the services out there. In fact I read at least a couple posts about TC doing this. But I had them for nearly two years for DW and myself and never ran into that issue. If you hadn't purchased a new subscription today, I'd say that the info in the TC report has to be refreshed and to double confirm with the report date. But since you subscribed today, then all of the reports would be dated for today.
If I was in that situation, I'd look at another EX source, like creditchecktotal, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. However, that's throwing money into the wind, I suppose. I don't know...maybe I'd do it.
