Dinging my credit score.......

I am currently shopping for a Home Loan and I was told that I can have as many people pull my credit report within 14 days and it will only count as one "ding" against my credit score.  Is there any truth to this?  I have never heard of this before.

Re: Dinging my credit score.......

Multiple auto inqs or multiple mortgage inqs in a 14 day period would each be reported, but should be scored each as one inq in terms of tour FICO score

Re: Dinging my credit score.......

So it's as I thought --- if they shop my loan to ten people and each of them pull my credit.. then that shows as 10 and it will affect my credit score?

Re: Dinging my credit score.......

It shows as ten, but only 1 counts against your score. The other 9 are free

Re: Dinging my credit score.......

But the INQs still stay there... CC turndowns can come as the result of to many INQs...Smiley Sad

FICO score is not impacted the same as 10 INQs from 10 different CCCs but approvals for other credit can certainly be impacted.
