Direct TV Collection

Does anyone know or have any idea of the consumer advocacy group affiliated with NCO collection agency. After agreeing to a payment schedule and paying  two months straight I was reported dropping my credit score 27 points. Dropped from 685 to 657 took me five years to get there with no late payments in 5 yrs 5 mos. I was told by the CA that the agency could remove the line item if I paid the balance in full. I spoke to the consumer group who said the would but could not guarantee in writing so I did not move forward. Just trying to get an idea of how long it will take even when paid in full to get some of my points back. My TU score dropped from 707 to 685.  I also seem to run into issues being here in California with my EX score being pulled which is the lower of the three scores at 627. Can anyone give me some insight.

Re: Direct TV Collection

CA = Collection Agency, not Consumer Advocate

Allied Interstate is CA. So is NCO. Both are among the worst collection agencies in the business. Don't believe a word either of these two outfits has to say to you. If you don't have it in writing you don't have anything.

Re: Direct TV Collection

You are going to have to make yourself much clearer. There is no "consumer advocacy" related to a CA. Have you paid this yet? What are you talking about here?

Re: Direct TV Collection

The collection agency Allied has removed the collection from my credit unfortunately a company called financial asset management picked it up a re-reported it on 12/09..thus causing my FICO to drop another 22 pts.. I sent a detailed letter to them asking for full trade line removal if I paid it in full.. the debt is 296.81.. I just mailed off the certified letter yesterday.

Re: Direct TV Collection

What you need to know before you do anything else is the date you first went delinquent on the account with whatever creditor that led up to the collection.

That is your DOFD.

No CA can be included in your CR once 7 1/2 years have passed from that date.  FCRA 605(c).

Consumer advocacy groups wont adress your DOFD.

Good luck on your pay for delete attempt. I hope this works for you. Be persistent.
