I am thinking of adding my daughter as an authorized user to help her credit. She does not live with me so she has a different address in another state.
When filling out the form it asks for:
First and Last name (she has her mothers last name)
Date of Birth (22 years old)
SSN
Address (I live in Il and she lives in Tx)
If I put down her address will the card go to her in Texas?
Or should I put down my address so the card comes to me? (even though my address is not on her credit report)
I want to just add her as an Authorized User so she gets a positive tradeline on her report not necessarily for her to use the card.
Be safe. Use your address. Imho of course, but why take the risk? Oh, and it's a good thing to do for them.
@Iusedtolurk I am on a good friends Discover acct as an AU. When she added me, she put my actual address, but the card went to her address and then she gave me the card. Hope this helps...

@JM427If it works this way that would be perfect. Was that done recently?
@Iusedtolurk Maybe 6 months ago.
Wow, @JM427 that's great! How long did it take to show up on your reports?
@805orbust If I remember correctly, it was right around a month. It showed up right after her next statemet cut date.
Thanks for the great data point. You definitely cleared this one up.
