That's pretty normal. Some take 2-3 months, so that's not too bad. It'll still show when you actually opened it once it finally reports, not just from when it starts reporting BTW.

So I got my new discover it miles in the mail today. Maybe the group here can help me. I called discover asked about reporting she said that first statement will be on October 26th and first payment due November 15th. No issue with that Ill Pif every few days. However she said it won’t report to cra’s Till that first statement on October 26th. Does that sound right? That’s 5 weeks from when I received it which was today! I know to make sure balance is low on that statement date (26th) to keep util low on report.
Yes and no
When I got mine, my first statement period was a short one, 9 days only. There wasn't even a payment due till the next cycle, just like yours, except they did report after that first short cycle closed.
So, you may have a statement and it may report earlier, just no payment due
I was told same thing as you, that it would not report till the following month, but that turned out not to be the case.
Either way, they will report whenever first statement closes
With Discover, and act of adding AU will force off cycle report, so that's another thing to keep in mind.
Congrats on your new card!
I would not sweat utilization too much. Unless you're applying for something really important, once cycle with higher utilization wont hurt you and the lenders in your signature dont fall into more neurotic types.
Use your card, dont pass the opportunities to earn rewards because of credit reindeer games. Life is too short and wallets are too thin for that nonsense
If you really care about the number on your report, Discover will report your balance mid-cycle if you call and ask them to.
