Dispute charges and friend

Hey guys, I've cut my friend off due to recklace driving and whatnot, and even after that he still used my credit card I guess because of my card still being on his Uber app. But, on my app I don't see any recent transactions. I know I didn't use Uber but if Chase does an investigation, could he get in trouble? Thanks.

Wait? You cut him off yet, he's the one who was wreckless driving? Smiley Wink

Wait...is this the same friend you made the car payment for the other day?

Honestly, I don’t understand your question. Why would Chase do an investigation? Did you report that your friend stole your card? Why don’t you just have Chase reissue the card with a different number?

Re: Dispute charges and friend

It sounds like you are considering reporting this transaction as fraudulent. Did you friend steal your card number, or did you allow him to use it as some point? In the latter case, they might not consider that as fraudulent use.

I would take @CreditInspired's suggestion, get the card cancelled and reissued with a new number, and either take up the issue of paying for one Uber ride with your friend or just consider it water under the bridge and move on.

Re: Dispute charges and friend

@CaardVark, yeah had to cut him off bro. He was drunk and driving, and I told him I should drive, he has bad credit, don't even have $1K for emergency purposes, just broke even tho he has a cert in IT, idk his lifestyle is crazy, he was driving 80+ on the street and swerving and stuff, crazy I was in the car with him too lol... It's crazy how he never got pulled over by the police for some reason lol.

@FinStar, yup I paid for his car payment but he gave me cash lol. So, no money loss I guess aha.
