IRS Experian Verification questions

I swear this whole process is stupid regarding online identification/verification with the IRS

Tried my mortgage, auto loan, HELOC, two credit cards, nada.

Only thing I haven't done yet is gone straight off an annualcreditreport one, but that'll be tried tomorrow specifically with Amex cards since on my old report they aren't obfuscated like every other tradeline.

Has anyone gotten this working and if so what sort of account did you use?

Re: IRS Experian Verification questions

It's a total disaster; I agree with you. I vaguely remember getting it to work once a few years ago. But every time I've tried recently has failed. I've tried every account, made sure the report is unlocked, triple-checked the account numbers, etc. etc. and it still fails every single time.

My new theory is that account numbers sometimes are reported differently on the CRA reports. Looking at my Experian it does appear some of them - not all - are different, so that might explain why it could fail with those accounts. But even using the account #s that are not reported differently, it's also failed. Maddening.
