Dispute letters? First question!

Hi allSmiley Happy
I wrote a little intro a few minutes ago and now I am getting together my specific questions.

I am anxious to dig in and start writing my disputes.
So how to start?

I have my reports, I know what I want to dispute and why...but what now.
I do not feel comfortable with the online submission forms from the CRAs, and the dispute form here on my fico seems to easySmiley Happy

I want each one to be taken seriously and fear sending in a "list" of issues will fall by the wayside vs individual letters. Certainly it will take more postage, but seems worth it if it helps.

What about the Collection agencies or creditors?
Should I bother with them at all or only dispute to the CRAs? I have always had the basic attitude of not talking to ANY collector as I have never known any good to come from it!

My plan was to dispute all I could, get removed what is possible and offer PFD letters to all others that I can afford to pay.
I dont plan on paying off any collection that wont delete.

I also don't really understand debt verification as it seems all they do is say "yes we verify this debt" what exactly does that prove when i am saying that a particular debt inst even mine?
Ex: I supposedly owe a debt to a mail order catalog I would never in a million years have ordered from. What proof do they need to supply to show it is my account?
A signature? anything?
I have read the intro threads and know the basics, but it seems to me that many have differing opinions as to the best way to dispute, so what i am looking for really is personal opinions as to the best most effective way to do this and be taken seriously.
Thanks so much,
Annie

Re: Dispute letters? First question!

All CAs must be licensed in Fl.  check to see if they are

If they are not file a complaint with Fl.and the AG office where the CA is AND file a complaint with the FTC.

They can NOT collect if not licensed!!!!

Re: Dispute letters? First question!

Definitely dispute each item separately by mail with CRA's. if you send in multiple disputes in one letter some things may get overlooked.

Re: Dispute letters? First question!

Disputing a CA  before sending a DV   might not be such a good idea. You are giving them a heads up that you are awake.
