Hopefully some one will be able to direct you. I understand your frustration. I have disputed info on my credit report and it comes back as confirmed. It seems like all the credit bureaus do is ask the creditor and if they say it is accurate, then it stays. Of course the creditors are going to say it is accurate but no one is actually looking to see if it is or should be reporting that way. I have read where folks have been successful at disputing so I'm not sure if it is the luck of the draw or what.
What, exactly, was the installment?

It was at a furniture store. The item was television. It was financed through them, and the terms were $74.00 a month for 12 months.
Its pretty cut and dry its been reaged and thats illegal, file a CFPB complaint against the reporting creditor http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
Did you pay the loan off in its one-year term?
Was it closed in good-standing in 2001?
